When Moorlands Primary School approached Comoodle recently to help deliver their Healthy Eating Week, we knew this would be a tasty project to get involved with!
Every year The British Nutrition Foundation encourages schools to come together for one week, to focus on healthy eating and drinking and physical activity and promote healthy living. This summer all 630 pupils and staff at Moorlands Primary School took part in the event and were able to access kit through the Comoodle Project.
To get the children (and their teachers!) up and about we sourced 90 pedometers so that a whole year group could take part in a step challenge. The pupils recorded how many steps they took on each day of the week and did some follow-up work in class – we hear things got quite competitive!
During the week parents were invited to a Food for Life afternoon to watch sporting activities, see the pupils prepare healthy food and get ideas for recipes. Comoodle was able to provide cooking sets and educational materials including our ever popular sugar and fat demonstration tubes.
Comoodle is committed to supporting community activities that promote healthy activities and we’re always happy to hear from groups and individuals who are interested in accessing our resources.
